The type of motorcycle license you need depends on the bike’s engine size and power. Here’s an overview of the various types of licenses and the corresponding age requirements.
1. Learner’s Permit (16-17 years old)
A learner’s permit allows young riders to practice riding under certain restrictions, such as:
- Riding only during daylight hours
- Not carrying passengers
- Mandatory completion of a motorcycle safety course
This stage helps beginner riders gain confidence and improve their skills before obtaining a full license.
2. Restricted License (17-18 years old)
At this level, riders can operate motorcycles with limited power, usually up to 125cc. These licenses often come with restrictions such as speed limits and limitations on riding at night.
3. Full License (18 years old and above)
Once riders reach 18 or above and have completed the necessary safety training and exams, they can obtain a full motorcycle license. This allows them to operate motorcycles without power or size restrictions.
Remember that safety and training requirements for young riders are also necessary, so you must know about their requirements too.
